Zeke's younger siblings are twins, 15 years younger than him.
At 13, Keri [AKA "String Bean"] is a straight-A student, class clown, and the Queen of the Court in AAU. As time passes, her friends' and classmates' bodies develop and they begin mocking her as a flat-chested tomboy.
One day, she hits her limit and lashes out. She punches a teammate and she's standing over her victim like Ali over Liston when Coach Tiffany comes in and kicks her off the team.
Zeke has to come and get her, and it makes for a very awkward car ride home.
When they get home, Keri runs to her room, dives on the bed, and cries into her pillow.
Nothing Zeke says can help, so he calls Mimi over... Keri has hated Mimi since day one, but Zeke says convinces her to try...
RIP Salutatorian
Caleb Michael Williams was born on January 13, 1994. He is Sophie and Jake's second child, their first boy. As a baby, Mikey was unable to say Amelia so he started calling her "Mimi," effectively giving her the nickname.
Once he started school, he proved to be a prodigy. He breezed through school and eventually became Salutatorian of Dudley’s Class of 2012. He went to NC State on a full academic scholarship.
One night, he was partying and drank too much. He got alcohol poisoning and almost died. Sophie and Jake pulled him out of school immediately. They never even followed up with the Financial Aid Office to see if his scholarships were revoked.
His parents, understandably, took him back home and put him in AA.
Jake was most disappointed and never shied away from letting him know at every possible opportunity.
Constantly feeling overshadowed by Mimi's successes and burned by Jake's criticisms, the pressure pushed him back towards the bottle as he struggled to find a consistent sponsor.
